JAPANESE MINICAR GARAGE

ABOUT

Picture

what's japanese minicar garage?

Japanese Minicar Garage is a new venture on an old idea. The basic premise of JMG came about in my quest to have a handy dandy reference for the minicars I want to collect, as well as an online catalog of what I have collected.
To start with, this site will undoubtedly go through many changes for the first few months as I play around with the design and different ways of doing what I want to get done.

So, what ARE Japanese Minicars? My definition of Japanese Minicars is any toy car that represents the makes and models of real Japanese vehicles such as Toyota, Datsun, Honda, Mazda, etc. In the USA we usually refer to them as 'diecast', but in Japan these are usually referred to as 'minicar'. Since I like the term 'minicar' that's what I'm going with and that's what I typically will use to refer to

While the broad definition of Japanese Minicar would include all scales, and all materials (tin, zinc, plastic), my main focus here will be on 1/64 scale. This would include anything within the "3-inch" range. This means you'll find brands like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Tomica, and many many more. Eventually I'll include some Choro-Q and possibly some 1/43 and 1/18 scale models.
